EVENTS
SEPTEMBER 2009
Gordonsville Town Employee Picnic: To be held on the grounds of KGVE. Date moved to Sunday September 27, 2009 2:00p.m. (rain or shine) due to rain predictions for Saturday.
The town of Gordonsville will be using the front entrance area for parking and activities. I would like to ask GAPS members to help with crowd control, passing out balsa wood airplanes and trash pick-up after the event. There may be other areas we might be able to assist the town. I will keep you posted through this email. If you wish to give free airplane rides in your airplane that would also be welcome.

Mr. Mitch Lock, the Maryland representative of Van's Aircraft will be visiting GordonsvilleMunicipal Airport(KGVE) on September 26th at 10 AM to demonstrate the new RV-12 kit-built aircraft. Light Sport Aviation News
Touted at a 3 hour leg and designed by the Chinese, will this be the future of aircraft?
In the spirit of GA and innovation at KGVE we are highlighting this manufacturer on our page. It is another version of the car with wings. It is currently an experimental wanna be LSA.This link shows it actually flying. Look for it at Sun-N-Fun and Oshkosh because it will probably steal the show!
Below: Current approach for 230 at KGVE after runway obstructions removed.
Preserving the grass roots aviation community by filling in the gaps between: past and future, antique and LSA (Light Sport Aviation), experimental and general aviation aircraft, and our local pilots and community.
The Bluebird Sings: News from Bluebird Aerodrome at KGVE. The RV12 was at GVE today for only an hour because of impending rain and low ceillings. We did get to see her take off and land several times and enjoyed the visit. A picture with her beautiful paint job will be posted here soon. Here is a video of her first flight (not at our air field). |
And... just for fun... read this...RV 8 purchased by former F-16 pilot from Montana.
